Solace: Ahsas

The fourth album for Solace and the biggest departure from the original “Shawasa” album. Jeremiah as musician and composer is joined by vocalist Harry Saroyan, Lydia Fortner, chanting by Yogini Kundalini as well as Steven Flynn on ney. The human voices as well as the voice of the ney give this work a more vital and soulful character. The rhythms are complex and steamy and the mix of dynamics gives one goose bumps. Other instrumentation: oud, saz, key boards, kanoon. Everyone loves this album! A masterpiece for Solace.

From the dark, moody sounds of  "Solitude" which has an intensity-building characteristic similar to a whirling dervish, to "Blessings" with its blissful atmosphere of heavy percussion and intoxicating zaghareets, Solace delves deeper into the soul bringing forth emotions and visions that most people choose to ignore. The emotive soundscapes of Solace are a testiment to ones fear, loneliness and hope, yet continuing to blend cutting edge with tradition. Release date: Spring 2000
