Michael Beach: Hands of a Thousand Dances

Hands of a Thousand Dances is a gift to all the dancers. Michael Beach has been playing for years. Michael Kersy backs him up a bit on base and Steven Scaggs on oud, but most of the album is Michael Beach on drums, zorna, keyboards, percussion and vocals. He wrote an especially tender theme song for the album about how his soul meets the dancer’s soul through his hands on the skin of the drum. He had it translated into Pharsi. This is a really great album full of short little pieces belly dancers can mix around to create routines for haflas, recitals, parties, classroom work and dance concerts. This collection has an excellent recording and production quality. (My favorite of course is Raks Delilah)
