Beautiful hands and arms are the icing on the cake of your performance! This workshop focuses on technique drills for gorgeous hands and arms in belly dance. Learn how to accent and frame your movements, how to improve “flow” and to add sensual flourishes and embellishments to your performance, and how to dance with slow, graceful arms layered over quick movements and shimmies. We will cover Egyptian, Turkish, Rom and folkloric gestures, as well as dramatic arm and hand positions suitable for fusion performances. Also covered: hands and arms with finger cymbals. Bring your cymbals! Class notes will be provided. This class is open to all levels.
